He was 39 years of age & He is commemorated on the Portsmouth Naval Memorial & is recorded by the C.W.G.C as the late son of William & Florence Dandridge & the late husband of Edith Gertrude Dandridge. He was posted to HM Yacht Keth.He survived her loss to a collision with S.S. Leicestershire in St. George's channel on 11 October, 1917. He was onboard HMS Valient for the mutiny at Invergordon in 1931 & was part of the crew of the Submarine HMS Seal when the crew was captured laying mines off the coast of Norway in April 1940.He dug a tunnel in an attempt to escape from Marlag P.O.W Camp & is recorded in the P.O.W roll as P.O.W number 5306 at Stalag 20A at Thorn Poogors in Poland. He later renumbered as 201801 & was awarded the French Croix-De-Guerre in the London Gazette dated 25-11-1918 & this was followed by the award of the Military Medal for services in France in the London gazette dated 24-1-1919. He was discharged to a pension with a silver war badge 25-5-1917 & the award of the August to november 1914 clasp for the ribbon of the recipients 1914 Star is confirmed on the MIC GVF with a replacement medal ribbon & complete with MIC & medal roll details. UNNAMED AS ISSUED. To- 1237.PTE.NADI.1/K.A.R It is engraved on the reverse CAPTAIN.N.M.NORTH.5th NORTH, FUS 1915. GVF or better & mounted as worn. EF/MINT & Complete with MIC & medal roll details along with casualty roll details. He was later re-numbered as 417227 & sadly killed in action in France & Flanders 8-5-1918.
